History: In 1997, with the support of several key growers and a production farm in Mexico, Troy Lucht created Plant Source International to produce vegetative spring annuals, including both non-patented and patented items from around the world. Many of the new proprietary items came from smaller breeding companies looking for an opportunity to enter the North American market. A few years after beginning production, the need to have self-owned and managed production facilities in Mexico became apparent. Mauricio Paniagua, the former general manager of the prior production site, partnered with Troy Lucht to create Plant Source International Mexico. Currently, PSI Mexico owns and operates all its land and buildings. Over the years, we have added key personnel to allow the company to continue to grow and be responsive to our customers. We pride ourselves on quick order response, proactive order management in weather and freight delays, and accurate, reliable order acknowledgments and fulfillments.
Breeder connections: PSI’s current production includes about half unpatented varieties and half patented. The breeder connections have expanded to include Danziger, PAC-Elsner, PlantHaven International, Suntory Flowers, Terra Nova, Volmary, and Westflowers.
